Terms & Conditions

By entering this promotion (“Promotion”) you agree to the following Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”).

  1. The Promotion is run by Sherwin-Williams Diversified Brands Limited Units 2-3, Avenue One, Station Lane, Witney, Oxfordshire, OX28 4XR trading as Ronseal (“Promoter”) and is open to residents of the UK and Ireland aged 18 or over, excluding employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, and any company affiliated with the organisation, their agents or any other persons professionally connected with the Promotion.

  2. To enter the Promotion: You must post your entry of your DIY based film spoof idea (“Entry”) and tag a friend on the Ronseal UK & Ireland Facebook or Twitter page in the comments section below the post regarding the Knotflicks Launch Celebration between 12:00am on 1 April 2021 (“Start Date”) and 12:00am on 6 Apr 2021 (“Closing Date”).

  3. The prize – For the winning Entry that is chosen, the prize will be to have your DIY based film suggestion made into a Knotflicks trailer and feature on ronseal.com/knotflicks and also a one hundred pound (£100) shopping voucher (details of where the voucher can be used can be found at www.one4all.com) (“Prize”). There is a total of one (1) Prize to be won. Prizes will be provided by the Prize Partner (as defined in clause 4 below). All Prizes are non-refundable. The Prize shall be valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of issue.

  4. Winners details will be shared with Prizeshark Limited who are the Promoter’s prize fulfilment partners (“Prize Partner”). By entering the Promotion you are confirming that you consent to the Promoter sharing your details with the Prize Partner in order to administer the Promotion.

  5. The winner will be chosen by a panel including the Promoter and an independent judge from all entries which meet the criteria set out in these Terms and Conditions and received by the Closing Date. The selection criteria will be based on the Entry being deemed to be the most entertaining, original etc by a selected judging panel, so will not be randomly selected. In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Promoter is final. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative of equal or greater value. No correspondence will be entered into.

  6. The winner will be notified by a direct message from the Promoter’s Facebook or Twitter account within seven (7) days of the Closing Date. The winner must claim their prize by responding to the direct message confirming their full name and address within 24 hours of the notification.

  7. Each Entry must:
  • be suitable for display and publication online and on television and should not be obscene or indecent (including but not limited to nudity, pornography or profanity), it must not contain defamatory statements or words or symbols that are offensive either generally or to individuals of a certain race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic group. It must not include threats to any person, place, business or group, it must not invade privacy or other rights of any person, firm or entity, and it must not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations or network standards;
  • not contain or refer to any products other than those of the Promoter and it must not contain or reference any third party trade marks or logos (other than those of the Promoter unless such inclusion is merely incidental and is not unduly prominent and as long as it is included with due cause and in such a way that it does not take unfair advantage of any third party trade marks; and
  • be the entrant’s own work and must not contain any copyright protected works (other than as owned by the entrant).
  1. If any group of people elects to collaborate on a submission, they are required to designate one person as the agent of the group to enter the Promotion, agree to these Terms and Conditions and accept the Prize on behalf of the group.

  2. The winner’s details (surname and county) may be made available on request to those writing to Ronseal Knotflicks Facebook & Twitter Competition, 220 Wharfedale Road, Winnersh, Wokingham, RG41 5TP within ten weeks of the closing date, enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope.

  3. By entering the Promotion, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Promoter, their marketing agency and for the purposes of the administration of this Promotion and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. All entry instructions form part of the rules. The Promoter will only process the personal data in accordance with its privacy policy which can be found here: http://privacy.sherwin-williams.com/privacy-highlights.

  4. This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or Twitter. Entrants are providing information to the Promoter and not to Facebook. Entrants release Facebook and Twitter for all claims and liabilities arising in respect of the Promotion.

  5. Entrants shall indemnify and hold the Promoter and their respective affiliates, directors, agents, or other partners ("the Indemnified") harmless from any claims, actions, proceedings, costs (including reasonable legal fees) and expenses brought or asserted by a third party against any of the Indemnified arising as a result of the Promoter's use of the entrant's submission including but not limited to any breach of third party intellectual property rights.

  6. By participating in this Promotion, you agree to release, discharge and hold the Promoter harmless from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind resulting from your participation in this Promotion (save that nothing shall limit the Promoter’s liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by the Promoter’s negligence).

  7. By accepting these Terms and Conditions and submitting you Entry you hereby grant to the Promoter and its affiliates a non-exclusive, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right and license to use, publish, and otherwise reproduce, modify and distribute your Entry, with or without your name or other identifying information, in perpetuity, worldwide in any and all the Promoters related media for any lawful purpose. These uses may include, but are not limited to, information, promotion or advertising of the Promoter or its products via the internet, websites, mobile apps, social media, television and any other digital or non-digital means.

  8. By consenting to our use of your Entry, you further represent the following:
  • that you are 18 years of age or older;
  • that you have created, own, or otherwise control the rights to your Entry and any and all elements thereof; and
  • that your Entry does not infringe or violate the rights of any third parties, including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights, copyrights, trademarks, rights of publicity/privacy, patent, trade secret or confidentiality obligations.
  1. In agreeing to the Promoter’s use of your Entry, you give the Promoter your permission to redesign, archive, reproduce, disseminate, display, publicly perform and/or replay and make publicly accessible, as well as to cut and edit, adapt and modify your Entry or any part of it.

  2. You hereby release and discharge the Promoter and its affiliates from all and any obligation to pay you for any use of your Entry and any of the intellectual property rights contained in your Entry in connection with these Terms and Conditions.

  3. You accept that the Promoter may refuse to use or remove your Entry for any reason. The Promoter reserves the right to alter these Terms and Conditions without warning.
  4. To the extent it is permitted by law to do so, the Promoter accepts no liability for any damage, injury or loss suffered due to our use of your Entry.

  5. These Terms and Conditions and any issues or disputes which may arise out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions (whether such disputes or issues are contractual or non-contractual in nature, such as claims in tort, for breach of statute or regulation or otherwise) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Entrants hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts to settle any such dispute or issues.
