How to use your Self-Cleaning Masonry Paint

Before you start

1. Remove any dirt, chalk, mould, moss or algae with a stiff wire brush and some warm water.

2. Remove any loose paint

3. For powdery or dusty surfaces, use a Masonry Stabiliser

You can use our Self Cleaning Masonry Paint even if it’s been raining, so don’t worry if the surface is a little bit damp

This paint is best applied in temperatures above 10°C but it’s not best applied in humid weather or direct sunlight.

1. Give the paint a good stir so the colour is consistent. If you’ve bought multiple tubs, mix them all together. You don’t need to thin this paint, it’s good to go

2. You can use this with a brush, roller or sprayer. If you use a brush or roller, apply generous
amount of paint and overlap your strokes or lines so there’s a solid, uniform colour. Avoid excess rolling or brushing

3. Wait four hours for the first coat to dry. The paint will take longer to dry in cooler temperatures

4. Apply the second coat for the best colour and durability

1. Any spillages can be cleaned up with a wet cloth before it dries

2. Remove as much paint as possible from the brush and roller, clean with warm soapy water. If you’ve used a sprayer, check the instructions to find out how to thoroughly clean it

3. If you’ve got leftover paint, contact your local authority to find out how to responsibly dispose it
