Ronseal Triple Action Basecoat

Our Triple Action Basecoat fills hairline cracks, stops new ones forming and seals new plaster. It's all you need to get problem walls and ceilings or new plaster ready for painting.

Before You Start

Make sure the room is above 10°c. Open your doors and windows for ventilation and put down dust sheets to protect anything you don't want to get paint on.

Using Your Basecoat

Newly Plastered Walls

Prep: If you've had your wall re-plastered, leave it to dry for 7 days before using your basecoat.
Using Your Basecoat:
For new plaster you'll need 2 coats. Give the tub a really good stir and pour some of the basecoat into a tray. Dilute with 20% water and use a brush or roller to put it on.
Once it's dry you can put the second coat on, you can do this straight from the tub. It'll be dry in 4 hours.

Problem Walls

Prep: Sand off any flaking paint and give any glossy surfaces a quick sand to help the basecoat stick. If you've taken off wallpaper give the surface a wipe down with sugar soap to get rid of any glue, dirt or grease. Then leave it to dry.
Using Your Basecoat: Give the tub a really good stir. Use a roller or brush to put it on, you can do this straight from the tub. Leave it to dry, it'll be ready to paint over in 4 hours.

Saved our sanity by Perfect!

Used this on badly patchy vinyl silk which had been painted over a badly (if done) primed newish plasterboard wall. It is perfect.
