Ronseal Ultimate Protection Hardwood Garden Furniture Stain

Our stain will keep your garden furniture looking great. It’ll add natural colour to the wood and protect it from everything the weather can throw at it. No cracking, no splitting and the colour will last for 3 years - Guaranteed.

Before You Start

Make sure it’s a warm dry day (above 10ºC) and it’s not going to rain. Your wood needs to be clean and dry. Weathered, varnished or oiled wood will need to be sanded back to bare wood. Even if your furniture is new, a light sand will get rid of any rough splinters. Put on a face mask so you don’t breathe in the dust. Then give it a quick wipe with white spirit to remove any dirt or grease.

Using Your Ronseal Ultimate Protection Hardwood Garden Furniture Stain

First, you’ll need to give the tin a good stir. Be sure to check you’re happy with the colour, find a hidden area like the underside of the table and try it. Then grab your brush and start painting. Always brush in the direction of the wood grain. You’ll need to put 3 coats on to get 3 year protection. Leave 4 hours between each coat. If you get any stain on yourself, wash it off with warm, soapy water. It’s best to leave your furniture a couple of days before using it, to allow the stain to fully harden.

Cleaning Up

Scrape as much stain off your brush as you can. Then wash it in warm soapy water. It’s best to clean any spills up straight away while they are wet. It’s much easier than when it has dried. Don’t pour any left over stain down the drain or into watercourses. Your local authority may have special ways to get rid of unused products.
